We received so many wonderful class novel sets that will help us in our units of study in 7th and 8th grade ELA this year! We can't wait to start our first units using \"Hidden Figures.\" It connects with all four subjects and we're looking forward to cross-curricular projects about NASA, the Space Race, and Black women's history. \r\n\r\nReading in the classroom is done as a whole group, small groups and individually but the topics are discussed together. These books have made a significant impact on my students, who now have access to an added variety of genres, authors, and topics that cater to their diverse interests and reading levels. During our independent reading time, students eagerly select from these books, some even taking them home to continue their reading adventures. It's been wonderful to see how much their love for reading has grown as they explore new worlds through the pages of these books.\r\n\r\nOne of the most exciting moments for my students was the unboxing of the new books. Their faces lit up with anticipation as we added the books to our shelves. The excitement continues every Friday during \"Flashlight Friday,\" a special time when students read with the lights off, enjoying the books in a cozy, relaxed environment. Your support has not only expanded our library, but it has also contributed to fostering a love of reading and creating a positive, engaging learning atmosphere for my students.
