The rocker chairs, cushions, and bouncy bands will give my students more independence in selecting an area in the classroom to work. I want to give my third graders the opportunity to select where they want to sit to help them focus. Flexible seating gives students a choice in a learning space and puts them in control of their learning. The traditional student desk does not work for every child. If students feel comfortable and less fidgety, they are more likely to pay attention. Having a variety of seating options will help motivate my students and give them the chance to select what works best for them.
