Students are learning that devices like 3D printers are used by engineers, designers, and manufacturers to prototype ideas, test solutions, and improve designs. This has helped them see real-world connections between classroom learning and future careers.\r\n\r\nWhat excites students most is the idea that they will soon be able to design something digitally and then physically hold it in their hands. Many students have never seen a 3D printer used in person before, so the idea of watching an object be built layer by layer feels both fascinating and motivating. The Bambu Lab A1 mini, in particular, has generated interest because of its reputation for speed, precision, and ease of use—qualities that will allow students to focus on learning and creativity rather than technical frustration.\r\n\r\nSeveral students have already expressed strong interest in working with the printer once it is set up. We're getting ready to start our first project with the Cricut heat press and vinyl bundles! My web design students will be designing their own custom logos, then learning how to cut and apply them to t-shirts. \r\n\r\nThe next step is to take their digital logo designs and bring them to life with the Cricut! This project will let them see how design work can move from the computer to a real-world product.
