The children have enjoyed exploring the new materials. We were able to add more instruments to our classroom that are reflected in the books we read about from other cultures, and the children have loved exploring the xylophone, some even trying to play some of the song cards. The music boxes give the children control over what they want to listen to and the practice of handling shared electronics with clear expectations. The drawing tablets have allowed the children to express themselves through art. They have been playing our preschool version of Pictionary with their peers. The explanations of their drawings are building their language skills, while providing valuable insight into their knowledge and thought process.\r\n\r\nThe children have also really enjoyed the STEM activities, from building with materials or the train tracks, and the magnetic car tracks. They have had to problem solve with materials, trying different ways of putting the tracks together to reach the desired outcome. The children also assisted in unscrewing and screwing in the battery compartment. The children used their conflict resolution skills to determine that we would take turns and selected one of the timers you provided to do so. The materials that you donated to our classroom has been met with engagement, curiosity, and wonder.
