Your support has made a meaningful and immediate impact on my autistic support students, and we truly appreciate your kindness and commitment to helping children succeed.\r\n\r\nBecause of your donation, our students now have access to a variety of preferred snacks throughout the day. This has taken away the stress and uncertainty when students are served a non-preferred lunch, allowing them to stay focused, comfortable, and ready to learn. Even more exciting, many of our students have tried new foods for the very first time—something that can be a big step for children with sensory sensitivities.\r\n\r\nThe weighted blankets have also become an essential part of our classroom. Students love using them for warmth and sensory regulation, especially in our calm down corner. They were an instant favorite from the moment they arrived. When the students first saw the snacks and blankets, their excitement was contagious—they couldn't wait to explore the new options and immediately gravitated toward the blankets for comfort.\r\n\r\nYour generosity has helped create a more supportive, responsive, and inclusive environment where our students feel safe, cared for, and empowered to try new things. The peers watched a video about autism. Then, a student in my class got to show off his clocks, which is a special interest of his. We then read a book about sign language and AAC devices. The students then got to learn about AAC devices, as two of the students in my classroom uses one to communicate. My students use these materials every day during our small-group instruction and individualized learning time, especially to support communication, sensory needs, and foundational academic skills. One powerful moment that stands out was during a structured learning activity when a student who typically struggles to engage independently used the new materials to complete a task from start to finish with minimal support. That moment represented not just academic progress, but increased confidence and independence.\r\n\r\nWhen the materials first arrived, my students were incredibly excited and curious. Many of them thrive on routine but also benefit from engaging, hands-on experiences, and these resources provided just that balance. They were eager to explore, and I immediately noticed increased focus, longer attention spans, and more willingness to participate in activities that had previously been challenging.\r\n\r\nBecause of your generosity, we are now able to take our learning even further. Our next steps include expanding structured work systems, incorporating more differentiated instruction, and building on communication and social skills through guided activities. These resources are helping us create a more supportive, responsive classroom environment where every student can access learning in a way that meets their individual needs.\r\n\r\nThank you for giving my students opportunities to grow, succeed, and feel confident in their abilities.
