These are all essential skills necessary to become intentional purposeful readers. These books have added to the interest level that was needed to reengage my fourth grade learners. As an educator, I was excited to find titles that not only provided a chance for my students to work as a community of learners...but it was also a novel none of them had read before. Finding this type of novel can be a challenge in fourth grade. We have spent the first novel study of the year reading like \"adult learners\". My students commented that they felt like readers not just decoders. I was a thrilled educator. Thank you all for making this opportunity happen for the readers of Dassa. The phonics kits are very sturdy. They come in a sturdy box. The magnetic letters stick well and are easy for little fingers to move. There is a built-in dry erase area where students can write the words they build. This resource directly matches the instruction I am using. In a time where there seems to be so many negative influences, it fills my heart that there are good people who will donate to provide resources that will benefit my students.
