Since our ukulele arrived, I have played it in every class as part of our singing activities. The students love its more mellow tone and enjoy singing with it more than the traditional soprano ukulele. They look forward to hearing it in our welcome song each day! \r\n\r\nMy students with special needs in specialized classrooms have also LOVED the new concert ukulele. Since this ukulele has a strap, I am able to take it into these classrooms consistently and don't have to worry about putting the ukulele down if I need my hands to help a student. They love strumming the ukulele (while I change the chords with my hand)!\r\n\r\nI also used the concert ukulele in some of the accompaniment tracks I created for our winter concert performances this year. It will also be featured in our spring choral concert this year. Through having a ukulele with more range, there are more musical options and it creates better sounding accompaniment tracks to help our students shine at their performances! \r\n\r\nThank you so much for supporting our students and their love of learning music! So once the students realize that they have a voice or a choice in what they can read boy do you see a difference in attitude. \r\n\r\nMany ask for specific titles or topics and I want to be able to hand them just what they want when they want. I don't want to miss that most important moment. Having the donations that we received recently will help me do just that. \r\n\r\nThis year, I am pleased to report, the students do not want to close their books for my lessons. I catch them reading silently on their own. I watch them read to one another. Many have found duplicate titles so that they can all read the same book at the same time, creating their own little book clubs. This stands to help them improve their reading skills but even more importantly, some might say, improve their desire to read. There is evidence to suggest that students that read for pleasure are more successful academically and isn't that what we all want?","fullyFundedDate":1757712228821,"projectUrl":"project/readers-equal-future-leaders/9689279/","projectTitle":"Readers Equal Future Leaders","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Marquardt","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10244261_orig.png?crop=750,750,x0,y210&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1757190624722","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10244261"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_48946","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":291,"numTeachers":33,"percentFrplEligible":57,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":0,"percentWhite":94,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":3,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","percentHawaiianImputed":0,"percentMultiracialImputed":2,"gradesServed":"K - 6","studentTeacherRatio":"8.8:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"RURAL","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_DISTANT"},"inStateSupporters":70.0,"schoolId":48946,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Millville Area Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Millville Area Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/pennsylvania/millville-area-school-district/millville-area-elementary-school/48946"}
