So once the students realize that they have a voice or a choice in what they can read boy do you see a difference in attitude. \r\n\r\nMany ask for specific titles or topics and I want to be able to hand them just what they want when they want. I don't want to miss that most important moment. Having the donations that we received recently will help me do just that. \r\n\r\nThis year, I am pleased to report, the students do not want to close their books for my lessons. I catch them reading silently on their own. I watch them read to one another. Many have found duplicate titles so that they can all read the same book at the same time, creating their own little book clubs. This stands to help them improve their reading skills but even more importantly, some might say, improve their desire to read.
