One student mentioned they were glad they didn't have to go to the nurse for them anymore, and another mentioned that she used to worry about what to do if she started her period unexpectedly at school. Moments like that reminded me how important these basic necessities truly are for our students' comfort, confidence, and ability to focus on learning.\r\n\r\nThe products are being used regularly, and they've helped eliminate stress and embarrassment for students who may not always have easy access to these items at home. What I appreciate most is that students can now take what they need discreetly and return to class feeling more comfortable and supported. It may seem like a small thing, but to a teenager sitting in class worried about an unexpected situation, it means everything.\r\n\r\nAs we continue through the school year, my students are working hard on their reading, writing, and class discussions, and having one less thing to worry about helps them stay engaged and present in the classroom. The large magnetic dry erase boards allow students the opportunity to graph functions at the board with partners allowing collaboration and classroom input. The additional rulers have been very helpful in graphing and measuring. In addition, we assembled and distributed farmer baskets to 25 local farm families as a way to show appreciation and support for their hard work and dedication.\r\n\r\nThis project became a powerful, hands-on learning experience. Students worked together to plan, organize, and assemble each item, building teamwork and communication skills along the way. One memorable moment was watching students carefully pack the birthday kits, making sure each one was complete—they truly understood the importance of their work and the impact it would have on others.\r\n\r\nWhen the materials first arrived, students were excited and immediately engaged. They were eager to get started and took great pride in knowing they were helping real people in their own community. Their enthusiasm carried throughout the entire project.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, we plan to continue building on this spirit of service. Students are already discussing new ideas for community outreach projects and ways they can continue to support local families and agricultural communities. Instead of feeling overwhelmed by unfamiliar language and dense primary texts, students were able to build historical understanding through clear, compelling storytelling. \r\n\r\nBecause these books were written at an appropriate reading level, my struggling readers were able to access the content with confidence. This made a tremendous difference compared to our previous study of these topics. Students who often hesitate to participate became more willing to read, discuss, and share their ideas. Their reading stamina improved, and they were better able to make connections, ask questions, and engage in thoughtful conversations.\r\n\r\nThese texts also helped strengthen essential literacy skills. Students expanded their vocabulary, practiced comprehension strategies, and developed the ability to analyze characters and historical events.
