My students are using the tonie to connect what they are listening to, to what they see in the books as they following along. \r\n\r\nThey all wanted to be at that center during small group, and since we rotate daily groups, they all got a chance to participate with it. I am now looking at getting more tonies and books to create a class set for the whole year. The next step to to grow my library of tonies to allow for more chances to learn how to hold books, follow along in a story, read, and even read the books themselves.","fullyFundedDate":1787181525630,"projectUrl":"project/growing-our-minds-through-reading/10485842/","projectTitle":"Growing Our Minds Through Reading","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Miller","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-7_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9098593"},{"teacherId":10166681,"projectId":9570493,"letterContent":"We are incredibly grateful for your generous support of our recent classroom project! The resources you provided have truly transformed our learning environment, directly impacting both the students' well-being and the daily efficiency of instruction. The most profoundly positive change has been the creation of our dedicated Calm Down Corner, now a highly utilized and essential part of my classroom. My students thoroughly enjoy the corner and the comfortable carpet I was able to install - it being a place where they can spend time away from the dedicated learning spaces. They often go there during independent work times to sit and read quietly or they utilize the new materials we received to re-regulate themselves during moments of frustration or overstimulation. This dedicated space has empowered them to take ownership of their emotional health and has significantly improved focus and engagement across the board.\r\n\r\nBeyond the social-emotional benefits, your support has provided a critical boost to our instructional capacity through the addition of a printer, markers, a paper shelf, and more! While seemingly small items, these resources has been a life saver, especially the printer, when our main school printer goes down or is unavailable, allowing me to immediately print out our activities for the day. This project has ensured our learning momentum is never lost due to technical issues, or lack of resources, and guarantees every student has the materials they need precisely when they need them. This project has sincerely helped me on my journey into my first year of teaching and has created a more stable, productive, and nurturing classroom where my students feel safe, regulated, and ready to learn. Thank you for making such a significant and lasting difference!","fullyFundedDate":1755400940340,"projectUrl":"project/first-year-first-steps/9570493/","projectTitle":"First Year, First Steps!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Buck","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-1_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10166681"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_71352","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":678,"numTeachers":58,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":1,"percentBlack":40,"percentWhite":2,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":40,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","percentHawaiianImputed":0,"percentMultiracialImputed":4,"gradesServed":"Pre-K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"11.7:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR District Record","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_SMALL"},"inStateSupporters":70.3,"schoolId":71352,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Ben Franklin Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Ben Franklin Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/pennsylvania/harrisburg-school-district/ben-franklin-elementary-school/71352"}
