The availability of these items has created a more supportive and nurturing environment, allowing students to practice important life skills in a realistic setting. Students are now better equipped to manage their personal hygiene and self-care routines, which boosts their confidence and independence. These resources have also provided an opportunity for hands-on learning, helping students understand the importance of maintaining good hygiene and self-care habits in their daily lives.\r\n\r\nOne of the most heartwarming moments has been the excitement and enthusiasm students display when they see that snacks are available to them. The anticipation of having a snack during class adds a sense of normalcy and comfort, making the learning environment more inviting and engaging. Students often share their joy with each other, creating a positive atmosphere that encourages participation and social interaction. This simple gesture of providing snacks has made a noticeable difference in their overall attitude toward class, fostering a sense of community and belonging.\r\n\r\nThe hygiene products have been especially beneficial for students who need extra support with their personal care routines. I keep these items in a designated drawer, and students are aware that they can signal to me whenever they need to use them. This system promotes independence while ensuring privacy and respect. Over time, students have learned the importance of using these products regularly, understanding how proper hygiene contributes to their health and well-being. Overall, these donations have enriched my classes by providing essential resources that empower students to develop essential life skills and feel more confident in their daily routines.","fullyFundedDate":1739722146587,"projectUrl":"project/help-out-my-functional-living-classes/8871827/","projectTitle":"Help Out My Functional Living Classes!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Mahle","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-2_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8364802"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_46044","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":977,"numTeachers":52,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":13,"percentWhite":56,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":25,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"7 - 12","studentTeacherRatio":"18.8:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":91.8,"schoolId":46044,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Hanover Area Junior Senior High School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Hanover Area Junior Senior High School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/pennsylvania/hanover-area-school-district/hanover-area-junior-senior-high-school/46044"}
