Flexible seating allows students to make choices in their learning and meets the needs of students’ individual learning styles. Additionally, it allows students greater ability to collaborate with their peers. My students show the most excitement about learning when they are given choices, the ability to move around the room, and work with their classmates.
Having a comfy learning space that includes a classroom carpet and floor seats will allow students to easily move around the room and work together. Currently the only furniture I have in my classroom is 30 rigid desks that are difficult move and one 6 foot table with three chairs. This makes it difficult for students to move around the room and work in groups.
The products I have chosen for this project will allow my students to choose where and how to complete their work. They will now have the ability to work at their desks or comfortably on the floor using the floor seats and clipboards. They will also be better able to share and display their ideas with their classmates by using the poster paper.
I have seen how excited my students get about learning and working together and hope that these supplies can foster their love for school even more!
