We have received all of the items at this point and have already started using many of them. \r\n\r\nWith the germs going around we have been able to put to good use the wipes and disinfectant spray every day. We have also already started using the tissues. These materials have helped keep our classroom clean and free from as many germs as possible. This has allowed for more students to stay in school and stay healthy, as well as myself. \r\n\r\nI am very appreciative of all of these. We have also been able to use the glue sticks and the playdoh in our learning. \r\n\r\nLastly, the amount of snack we have now is amazing. We are using these items during independent work time, small groups, and moments when students need a reset. One particularly powerful moment was watching a student who often struggles to stay engaged use a sensory tool to calm their body and successfully complete an entire assignment. These materials have helped create a more supportive and inclusive learning environment where students feel safe and ready to learn.\r\n\r\nWhen the students first saw the new sensory items, their excitement was immediate! They were curious, eager, and proud to explore tools designed just for them. Many students shared how the items helped them feel calmer, more focused, or more comfortable during challenging tasks. It was heartwarming to see students learn how to choose the tools that best support their individual needs and to respect how others use them as well.\r\n\r\nBecause of your support, we can now continue building students' self-regulation and independence skills as part of our daily classroom routine. Our next steps include incorporating these sensory tools into ongoing lessons, small-group instruction, and social-emotional learning activities. Your generosity has given students resources that will benefit them not just academically, but emotionally as well. This was my first project with Donors Choose, and without your support, I could have never made this exciting experience happen for my students.\r\n\r\nThe students at my school come from an economically disadvantaged community, and while my school does an amazing job supporting them and their families, I wanted to provide them with materials in the classroom that they otherwise may not have access to. Right now, STEAM is not part of our educational curriculum, so I felt it was important to give them the opportunity to experiment with and enjoy activities that allow them to be creative, innovative, and independent. Your donation has allowed them to do exactly that. Their excitement and joy have not waned since first using the materials, and I am amazed at the things I see them create on a regular basis.
