Students who arrive hungry can grab something discreetly so they can focus on learning instead of their empty stomachs. On two-hour delay days, when breakfast is often rushed or skipped entirely, I invited students into the classroom for a quick breakfast. I added one to our Makerspace room and loaded it up with books and paper. I put a few graphic novels in the drawers because my students love to read graphic novels. I also put in a few higher grade books as well as a few early reader books.
