Usually, students are fine with drawing pictures or words on their buttons. This time, they learned how to use a button maker app to upload images, change text, and design a button on the laptops. After they designed them, they submitted their designs to be printed in color. Then students cut out the designs and I put it into the button maker to make either a pin or a magnet. Most students chose the magnets since that was new to them. I added one to our Makerspace room and loaded it up with books and paper. I put a few graphic novels in the drawers because my students love to read graphic novels. I also put in a few higher grade books as well as a few early reader books.
