They took their time designing each card, carefully choosing their words and decorations to express gratitude, appreciation, and kindness. It was wonderful to see how thoughtful and creative they were, knowing their work would brighten someone's day.\r\n\r\nIn addition, we used the candy items to assemble treat bags for the veterans in celebration of Easter. Students worked together to organize and prepare each bag, showing teamwork and excitement as they contributed to something bigger than themselves. These small gifts carried a powerful message of care and appreciation for those who have served our country.\r\n\r\nOne of the most impactful parts of this project was when students had the opportunity to personally deliver the treat bags to the veterans. During our visit, students were able to spend time at the veterans home, interact with residents, and see firsthand the joy their efforts brought. Many students shared that this experience meant a lot to them and helped them better understand the importance of giving back to their community.\r\n\r\n\r\nYour support made all of this possible. Many former students have come back to visit me and have commented how much they love the table and how jealous they are that they didn't have it to use in 6th grade. \r\n\r\nMy students don't know this yet, however, after their state testing is over, they will be working on a robotics project and writing computer code.
