Our students are so excited to have a safe, quiet place to come when they are feeling overwhelmed, frustrated, anxious, or just need a place to collect their thoughts. While most of the students tend to visit their school counselor during times of a mental health issue, some of them have been able to utilize the calming corner in the nurses' office when they found out that this option was available to them.\r\n\r\nThe calming room offers calming strategies with posters, decor, books, stickers, coloring books, fidget spinners and stress balls. The students are able to come in and escape from the reality of whatever is stressing them and find a moment of peace. One of the students was so impressed that she commented, \"The nurses' office would never have been my go-to place when I needed to give myself a break, but after seeing this calm corner, I am definitely sold.\" The calming corner is becoming the new best kept secret for those looking to find a moment to reflect, recenter, and return back to themselves and their environment.
