As the weather turns cold, many of our families face genuine hardship in providing the warm clothing their children need to stay safe and healthy during the school day. Too often, students arrive at school unprepared for winter conditions—shivering through lessons, struggling to focus, and facing real risks to their physical well-being.\r\n\r\nYour donation directly removes this barrier. Because of your kindness, our students now have the warm jackets and socks they need to:\r\n\r\nArrive ready to learn — without the distraction and discomfort of being cold\r\nStay healthy — protecting themselves from illness and the elements\r\nFeel cared for — knowing that their community supports them\r\n\r\nThis gift communicates something powerful to our students: that they matter, and that adults in their lives are committed to their success—both academically and personally.\r\nWe are deeply grateful for your compassion and generosity. The translation devices that I have been using in my English as a Second Language groups have really made a difference in my students' lives. I have taught some of my students how to use the translation devices so that we are able to use them seamlessly in class discussion and instruction. These devices allow me to speak in English and immediately translate my message into another language to help my students. Conversely, the translation devices also allows my students to speak in their first language and have their message translated into English. The devices can translate between many different languages and have made teaching vocabulary to my English learners so much easier. \r\n\r\nMy students get excited to speak in their first language into the device and see what the word will be in English. They feel like they are teaching me their first language, while I am teaching them English vocabulary. Sometimes, students feel uncomfortable describing how they are feeling in English. With the help of a translation device, they are able to directly comunicate what is going on in their first language, and I can read what they said in English. This has helped students to feel more comfortable emotionally in the classroom, as well as taking chances to participate in class discussion. Recently, I used these devices to help translate during parent-teacher conferences in instances where a translator was running late or unavailable. These devices will be helpful to myself, my students, and my colleagues for years to come.","fullyFundedDate":1758806981194,"projectUrl":"project/can-you-say-that-again-puedes-decir-e/9674863/","projectTitle":"Can You Say That Again?
