By providing sports equipment, our students are able to have recreational time outside.\r\n\r\nIt has been in the news quite a bit about the importance of recess and downtime for students. According to guidance from the American Academy of Pediatrics on breaks for students of all ages, downtime is a necessary component of learning rather than a luxury. I agree with this, but also as a teacher and a parent, it's just nice to see kids playing. \r\n\r\nThe COVID shutdown has impacted our youth in more ways than many know. In the past few years it was evident that students didn't know how to play a friendly game and know how to be a good sport in both wins and losses. \r\n\r\nOur 7th graders are very thankful and excited to have the sports equipment funded.
