The book's exploration of themes such as adaptation, empathy, and the balance between humanity and nature sparked deep discussions and critical thinking. Creating their own Roz the Robot figures allowed students to engage with the story on a new level, merging creativity with STEM principles like design and problem-solving. Watching the movie adaptation offered a unique opportunity for students to analyze storytelling across mediums, sharpening their ability to identify key elements like character development, plot, and thematic differences.\r\n\r\nIn our classroom, reading became an active, collaborative process that brought the story to life. Students engaged in discussions, reflected on the text in writing, and even acted out scenes to connect more deeply with the material. The STEM project particularly resonated with hands-on learners, enabling them to apply their creativity and engineering skills in meaningful ways. Others, who were passionate about storytelling, enthusiastically analyzed the differences between the book and movie, contributing thoughtful observations during discussions. This project was a standout moment for our students, and we are immensely grateful to our donors for making this enriching experience possible.
