My students were incredibly excited when the materials arrived. Many of them immediately gravitated toward the Magna-Tiles, Mega Blocks, and magnetic activities, which have quickly become favorite structured break choices. These materials help students regulate their emotions and refocus so they can return to learning ready to participate.\r\nThe alcohol markers have also made a big difference in our classroom. My students love art and creative expression, and these markers have allowed them to improve their coloring and drawing skills while building confidence in their work. The digital wall clock has helped several students who struggle with analog clocks better understand time and stay on schedule throughout the day. The fireplace heater has also helped create a calm, comfortable environment where students feel safe and ready to learn.\r\nBecause of your generosity, my classroom now has tools that support creativity, independence, and emotional regulation. These materials help my students practice important life and academic skills while also giving them positive ways to take breaks and manage their emotions. Thank you for believing in my students and helping create a space where they can feel calm, capable, and successful.","fullyFundedDate":1765060268074,"projectUrl":"project/building-calm-creativity-and-confidenc/9939381/","projectTitle":"Building Calm, Creativity, and Confidence","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Sharlie","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9491348_orig.jpg?crop=1097,1097,x1095,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1764655390190","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9491348"},{"teacherId":9491348,"projectId":9108250,"letterContent":"Thanks to your generous support, our Life Skills classroom has been energized with new, hands-on materials that immediately made a difference. The moment our students saw the new supplies—especially the functional items like kitchen tools, visual aids, and sorting materials—they were buzzing with excitement. For many of my students, engaging in hands-on activities is not just a preference, but a necessity. These resources gave them the chance to build independence, confidence, and real-world skills in a way that felt empowering and fun.\r\n\r\nOne particularly meaningful project has been practicing simple meal prep using visual recipes and tools that match their ability levels. We recently completed a cooking unit where students made microwaveable snacks while following step-by-step directions using adapted visuals from our new materials. Students who are often hesitant or unsure in the kitchen lit up with pride when they successfully completed tasks independently. It's been a powerful way to tie academic and life skills together in a supportive, structured environment.\r\n\r\nMoving forward, these materials will continue to be a part of our daily instruction—from budgeting lessons using realistic money manipulatives to personal hygiene routines using adapted checklists. Your donation didn't just give us tools—it gave us opportunities to create moments of success, joy, and progress for students who are working hard every day to build their futures.
