This is not an easy task, and I certainly do not take it lightly; it is my honor and privilege to do this. Lately, and I am sure I am not alone, it feels like I am in competition with the instant availability of portable technology. I am all for technology, and I appreciate the availability of art and culture, and the ability for students to have that at the ready. But, I also know the value in holding a book, and being engaged with the printed page, and your donation has shown me that you value this as well.\r\nAdditionally, I would like to add that my students loved this book. The final for the novel was a Socratic Seminar, which was entirely student driven. They created the questions, the debate, the conversations, and it was riveting. \r\nThank you again for positively contributing to my students.","fullyFundedDate":1734380237297,"projectUrl":"project/station-eleven-reboot/9002131/","projectTitle":"Station Eleven Reboot","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Mensing","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-3_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8655024"},{"teacherId":8655024,"projectId":8815710,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your incredibly generous contribution which funded the purchase of a class set of Station Eleven novels by Emily St. John Mandel for my fabulous AP Literature and Composition class at Redmond High School in Oregon. Your kindness not only puts books in my student's hands, but reaffirms the belief that reading great novels is still very much alive and important in high schools in America.\r\n As my students navigate through this world, it has always been my greatest joy to be able to share a love of literature with them. And with your contribution, I am able to present them with a new and relatable work of literature that they can enjoy. I am looking forward to hearing their discussions, and reading their insights.\r\n How wonderful that, as a school, we now have these editions to share with future generations of inquisitive young readers!
