Because of you, our 4th and 5th graders have experienced a powerful shift in how they engage with books and with our library space. What may seem like simple art supplies have opened the door to creativity, focus, and a deeper connection to reading.\r\n\r\nStudents now have the opportunity to draw, sketch, and design while listening to audiobooks. This combination has created a calm, productive atmosphere where creativity and literacy support one another. When their hands are busy, many students are better able to focus on the story. The room feels peaceful, purposeful, and inspired. Instead of restlessness, there is concentration. Instead of distraction, there is imagination.\r\n\r\nThe excitement around these art kits has been incredible. Our 4th and 5th graders are truly over the moon. They look forward to library days and frequently ask when they can create and listen again. Conversations about books have naturally deepened because students are visualizing characters and scenes as they draw. They are making connections, asking thoughtful questions, and sharing their ideas with confidence.\r\n\r\nOne student in particular has shown just how meaningful this project has been. This student has historically had a difficult time in the library and often struggles to feel comfortable in this space. However, they love art. Since the art kits arrived, this student has been asking to come into the library during recess and even during lunch club time just to use the supplies while listening to a story. The transformation has been remarkable. Simply wanting to step foot into the library willingly is a huge and beautiful change.\r\n\r\nSeeing that shift has been incredibly moving. When a child begins to associate the library with something they love, it becomes the first step toward building strong, passionate readers. Comfort leads to curiosity. Curiosity leads to engagement. Engagement leads to growth. Your generosity helped create that first step for this student and for many others.\r\n\r\nThe art kits have given students a productive outlet, strengthened their focus, and made the library feel like a welcoming creative studio rather than just another classroom. They are learning that books are not only something to read — they are something to experience, imagine, and respond to.\r\n\r\nThank you for investing in our students' creativity and literacy. The impact of your support is visible every day in their artwork, their conversations, and their enthusiasm for being in the library. You have helped nurture joyful learners and growing readers, and we are deeply grateful.","fullyFundedDate":1767621903503,"projectUrl":"project/art-kits-for-creative-minds-in-our-schoo/9951874/","projectTitle":"Art Kits for Creative Minds in Our School Library","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Zollinger","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10056025_orig.jpg?crop=2316,2316,x0,y247&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1752189005630","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10056025"},{"teacherId":10056025,"projectId":9896599,"letterContent":"Because of you, our library has been transformed in the most meaningful way. The new headphones you provided have made an immediate and noticeable impact on our students and our learning environment.\r\n\r\nBefore this project was funded, headphone days were often interrupted by frustration. At least two students each class period would approach me to say theirs weren't working or had broken. It was discouraging for them and disruptive to their learning experience.\r\n\r\nNow, thanks to your generosity, those interruptions are gone. Students are able to fully immerse themselves in listening to books while working on art projects or independent activities. They absolutely love the days when I offer the option to listen to an audiobook or quiet music. The library feels calmer, more focused, and full of engaged learners.\r\n\r\nThe ability to combine listening and creativity has helped foster both a peaceful atmosphere and a deeper love of books and reading. Your support has not only provided equipment — it has given our students an opportunity to learn in a way that meets their needs and nurtures their excitement.\r\n\r\nThank you so much for investing in our children. Through this project, students are not only building with LEGO bricks, but also developing creativity, critical thinking, and a sense of pride in contributing ideas that could make a real difference in their community.\r\n\r\nThe excitement when the LEGO sets arrived was unforgettable.
