I teach the best grade there is. . . Kindergarten! Every day is exciting as we dive into learning all those things that big kids and grown-ups take for granted. Reading, writing, math, kindness to ourselves and others, and how to grow new strong neural connections by persevering even when it gets hard. Although I am not a Special Education teacher, I have chosen to be part of a SPED cluster. This means roughly 1/4 of the students I serve receive special education services. I love it! All of my students benefit from the inclusiveness that this model provides. My students learn kindness and acceptance early on. They know that fair is not always equal and that everyone learns differently. It is amazing how much love and understanding can be packed into those little hearts.
