These devices are more than just technology; they are a voice. With these tools, my students can now express their needs, share their thoughts, participate in lessons, and connect more meaningfully with their peers and teachers. What may seem like a simple message or request represents a huge milestone in independence and confidence for them.\r\n\r\nYou have helped open doors to academic engagement, social interaction, and self-advocacy. Your contribution has made a meaningful difference in the lives of our students during a time when many are facing uncertainty and emotional challenges. We are using these new resources daily in individual sessions and small group lessons focused on anger management, coping skills, and emotional awareness. One powerful moment occurred during a small group activity when students used the materials to identify their emotions and practice calming strategies. Several students shared that they now recognize when they are getting upset and feel confident using tools like deep breathing or positive self-talk to manage their emotions before they escalate.\r\n\r\nWhen students first saw the materials, they were immediately engaged and excited. The visuals and activities felt relatable and approachable, which helped students feel comfortable opening up and sharing their experiences. Many students expressed that the examples reflected real situations they face at school and at home. This connection sparked meaningful conversations and encouraged participation, even from students who are typically more reserved. It has been incredibly rewarding to see students feel validated and empowered as they learn to better understand themselves.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, our next steps include helping students apply these skills to real-life situations such as peer conflicts, academic stress, and problem-solving. Students will continue practicing through role-playing activities, reflection exercises, and goal setting to strengthen their emotional regulation and empathy. Because of your support, our students are gaining lifelong skills that will help them navigate challenges with confidence and resilience. Thank you for investing in their well-being and growth.","fullyFundedDate":1739375881627,"projectUrl":"project/counseling-tools/8957341/","projectTitle":"Counseling Tools","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Young","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp4506038_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1503548677391","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/4506038"},{"teacherId":4053957,"projectId":9315890,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for the supplies! I waited until the beginning of the school year to break out the new materials, so seeing them get to experience these additions to our classroom on the first day was exciting. I got to loop up to 5th grade with many of my 4th grade students, so I have quite a few who are in the same room this year. I think these things helped them feel like they were coming into a new classroom! \r\n\r\nStudents are loving the new books. Many of them now complain when independent reading time is over. They are enjoying these stories so much that they don't want to put their books away. The addition of the lamps has also been a huge benefit. Our overhead florescent lights are very intense, so the classroom is a much more enjoyable place to be with warmer lighting. Students have told me our classroom is cozy now, which I love!
