As a direct result of your kindness and thoughtfulness, this class of Kindergarten students have a much refreshed classroom.\r\n\r\nFirst, the students have a brand new carpet, with spots for each student to sit comfortably. Over the muddiness of December, we have discovered that this high quality carpet vacuums up cleanly, so that our classroom is fresh and clean each day. Students and teachers sit on the carpet for our morning opening circle and our afternoon closing circle. We build and do puzzles during our guided play time, and we all read books together on this carpet. Thank you for the new carpet!\r\n\r\nNext, the students have new STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) tools. Students use these tools when they are done with their work or when there is a need for a calming activity. The building tools, soft dolls, and alphabet tracing board allow students to work together or independently. Some neurodiverse students have found that these STEM tools provide an opportunity to actively use their hands while still listening to the whole class lesson, thereby building student engagement. Thank you for the STEM tools!\r\n\r\nAnd last, but certainly not least, the students have a durable, fabric emotional regulation poster that they can hold and refer to. Students have used it as a talking piece during morning circles to practice identifying their emotional state. Students have also used it to explore ideas of how to effectively move through the emotions in a particular zone. Thank you for the emotional regulation poster!\r\n\r\nThe carpet, the STEM tools, and the Emotional Regulation Strategies poster are all used frequently in our classroom, and have made our space an even more welcoming and engaging classroom for our learning and growing Kinder scholars. \r\n\r\nThank you so much for your donation!","fullyFundedDate":1760385813213,"projectUrl":"project/kindergarten-carpet-stem-tools-and-emo/9798042/","projectTitle":"Kindergarten Carpet, STEM Tools, and Emotional Regulation Strategies","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Petersen","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-10_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10304158"},{"teacherId":8885034,"projectId":8587854,"letterContent":"Thank so much for your support and kind donations.
