My first graders and I use it every single day — it's truly become the heart of our classroom.\r\n\r\nWe start each morning gathered together on the rug for our class meeting, and it's also where we share stories, read aloud, and work together in small groups. One of my favorite moments was seeing my students' faces light up the first time they saw it. They immediately found \"their spot\" on the bright colors and couldn't wait to sit down and start learning.\r\n\r\nThis rug has created a cozy, welcoming space that brings our classroom community together. As we move into our next units in reading and science, we'll continue using it as our gathering place for discussions, storytelling, and hands-on activities. Offering them at home technology has increased student participation in online learning supports. Students no longer have to talk over their siblings, or had more often been the case, just no participate. Students have taken seriously the committment to use the equipment to engage in online learning. \r\nBefore, we had families participating in extra online supports designed specifically for their child IF they could provide the equipment to support that online learning.
