I couldn't wait to get these much needed items to my students. Myself and the students were ecstatic as the boxes full of hygiene items began to arrive. A student helped me unpack and organize the supplies, she was thrilled with the different color hairbrush options. One classroom of students created personal hygiene supply kits to take home, which were full of hair care products, dental hygiene items, deodorant, lotion, and more. We also created smaller hygiene kits to keep at school for if they want to reapply deodorant, brush their teeth, or need hand lotion. \r\nI have been adding laundry detergent packets to food pantry boxes that go home to families so they are able to do laundry without the additional cost of laundry detergent. Students feel at ease knowing our bathrooms are supplied with various menstrual products. These hygiene items are very challenging to find in the community for free so being able to offer them to our students and families makes a huge impact. Again, thank you so much to all the donors that helped my project be fully funded and to get these essential hygiene items to our students!","fullyFundedDate":1732048615101,"projectUrl":"project/essential-hygiene-items/8816296/","projectTitle":"Essential Hygiene Items","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Sarah","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8963370_orig.png?crop=1636,1636,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1676487012664","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8963370"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_104733","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":null,"numTeachers":null,"percentFrplEligible":42,"percentAsian":5,"percentBlack":7,"percentWhite":48,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":15,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Not specified","studentTeacherRatio":null,"demographicsDataSource":"MDR District Record","equityFocus":false,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"UNCLASSIFIED","ncesMetroType":null},"inStateSupporters":78.3,"schoolId":104733,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Community Transition Program on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Community Transition Program","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/oregon/portland-public-schools/community-transition-program/104733"}
