The greatest impact has come from the fidgets and sensory materials. The fidgets are used daily as a tool for students to have at their desk as they work. I see many students who have become regulated and reach for these tools when they have big feelings. It has been a shift from seeing behaviors such as kicking tables or leaving the classroom. As I have had conversations with students they enjoy having something in their hands as it helps them be more comfortable talking. Sensory items such as light covers and hands on sensory have brought the feeling of overstimulation down. Students have advocated for themselves to take breaks in our break space when they need it. We just got done talking about what we are thankful for and so many students still refer to having these materials.","fullyFundedDate":1754271664111,"projectUrl":"project/sensory-and-snacks/9494788/","projectTitle":"Sensory and Snacks","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Gonzalez","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp6748650_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1753411277450","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/6748650"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_88206","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":266,"numTeachers":19,"percentFrplEligible":67,"percentAsian":7,"percentBlack":25,"percentWhite":23,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":29,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"14.0:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":57.2,"schoolId":88206,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Shaver Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Shaver Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/oregon/parkrose-school-district-3/shaver-elementary-school/88206"}
