These resources have become an important part of how we support student regulation each day. We use the SEL journals during our morning SEL lesson to help students identify their emotions and practice calming strategies. The watercolor paints have been incorporated into regulation-focused activities, where students use color and art to express feelings they may not yet have the words for. The storage bins have created a calm, organized environment that helps reduce overwhelm, and the snacks have been essential in keeping students regulated, focused, and ready to learn.\r\n\r\nWhen the students first saw the materials, their reactions were filled with excitement. They especially loved the SEL journals and gel pens that came with them. Many immediately began flipping through their journals, eager to write/draw, while others were drawn to the paints and couldn't wait to create. Several students expressed how much they appreciated having snacks available, sharing that it helps them feel calm and able to concentrate. It was a powerful moment to witness how these thoughtful resources directly supported their emotional regulation and sense of safety in our classroom.\r\n\r\nYour generosity has truly strengthened our ability to nurture a regulated, supportive learning environment. Thank you for investing in our students' well-being and growth.","fullyFundedDate":1768437135054,"projectUrl":"project/regulation-station/9946808/","projectTitle":"Regulation Station","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Kindra","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10002771_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1750780541681","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10002771"},{"teacherId":10299249,"projectId":9788157,"letterContent":"On behalf of our kindergarten class, I want to extend our heartfelt gratitude for your generous support. Because of you, our students now have a beautiful new light table, along with Lego blocks and pattern blocks that have already transformed our classroom learning experiences.\r\n\r\nThe students' reactions to the light table were pure excitement and wonder. Their eyes lit up as soon as we turned it on. They immediately began exploring how colors change when layered, how shapes look when illuminated, and how different materials interact with light. It has quickly become one of the most popular and engaging areas in our classroom.\r\n\r\nWe are using the light table in many meaningful ways. Students exploring color mixing, creating patterns, and practicing early math skills like sorting and shape recognition. With the pattern blocks, they are designing intricate mosaics, identifying shapes, and developing spatial reasoning skills. The Lego blocks are inspiring creativity, collaboration, and problem-solving as students work together to build structures and bring their ideas to life.\r\n\r\nThese materials are not just toys—they are tools that encourage critical thinking, creativity, communication, and hands-on discovery. Our students are learning through play, experimenting, asking questions, and building confidence.\r\n\r\nWe are so grateful for your support and belief in our students. They love playing at the sand table, using the mini animals and sand toys to be creative. It is a very popular play area and has really sparked their creativity. Everyday my students use the table to make connections with our lessons. From emotional learning, to storytelling, they explore something new each time. The table also provides chances for my students to grow their social skills: sharing, waiting turns, being kind etc. It's truly a joy to watch. It has been such a huge blessing to have these new items in my classroom. From the first day that the items started to arrive, the students have been so excited. They have used them since that first day!\r\nFor example, many of my students need a quiet and calm area to regulate. The weighted butterfly has been a huge hit for many, and they often put it over their shoulders. Further, the books about emotions, especially the one about Anger, has been really helpful for students to get some ideas on how to try and regulate, even when angry. The book sling is great to hold the new books. \r\nOne of the favorite items is the materials to grow plants. It is very calming to plant seeds and watch them grow, daily. Part of our daily routine is to check our emotions and then go check on our plants! Because it has been so warm, a lot of the student's plants have grown very quickly! They are excited to get to take them home over the summer break.\r\nAgain, I can't thank you enough for your generosity!
