Very few of our students are able to provide their own supplies, and walking into a fully stocked classroom with high quality supplies built excitement and enthusiasm from the beginning. \r\n\r\nBecause our classroom is small and we rarely have fewer than 28 students and desks, it is crucial that every student helps to maintain a calm, clean space that is conducive to learning. We have class jobs and students were beyond excited to be able to use our new vacuum! It is so great to pull it out quickly when a pencil sharpener spills shavings on the carpet or when someone accidentally squishes a cracker from snack time. In the past, we would have had to wait for our once a week vacuuming day to get it cleaned up. This vacuum has allowed the students to have pride in their learning space and be invested in maintaining a clean and inviting classroom!\r\n\r\nThe art supplies have already been used multiple times! Students completed volcano posters, cell analogy presentations, and inspirational quote posters using the new markers and colored pencils. The snacks also helped students settle into a routine and keep them going through our long morning of classes since they have the latest lunch. \r\n\r\nThank you so much for investing in our students and helping to make this a successful school year!","fullyFundedDate":1787353173307,"projectUrl":"project/basic-supplies-a-vacuum-for-high-need/10440887/","projectTitle":"Basic Supplies & a Vacuum for High Need Students","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Jansen","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8109341_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1784645539737","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8109341"},{"teacherId":4574062,"projectId":10224042,"letterContent":"Providing chapter books for my second-grade classroom will give my students access to engaging, age-appropriate books that they can read independently and with growing confidence. These books will help make reading an exciting and meaningful part of our everyday classroom experience.\r\n\r\nThese chapter books will also support my students as they develop important reading skills, including fluency, vocabulary, comprehension, and perseverance. Students will have opportunities to talk about what they read, make connections, and recommend books to their classmates. Many of them are huge fans, but the earlier volumes in the series are older and much harder to find. Thanks to your donation, I was able to bring in titles they've been searching for, and their excitement was immediate. These books have sparked new energy in our reading time—students who once hesitated now rush in eager to check out the next adventure.\r\n\r\nThe vacuum has already made a noticeable difference in our library. Because our space sits at the center of the building and is used constantly, it often only gets vacuumed once a week. Having a cordless vacuum available means I can clean up during the busy moments when regular maintenance doesn't happen. My students even love helping, especially with the Swiffer dusters, which keep our shelves and surfaces clean and dust-free. The library feels more welcoming, brighter, and better cared for because of these tools.\r\n\r\nBefore I stepped into this role, our library wasn't well maintained, and students weren't expected to return books. I've been working hard to rebuild routines, restore order, and bring life back into this space. Donations like yours are a vital part of that transformation.
