My students were thrilled when they first saw the new sensory tools. The excitement was immediate. Several students eagerly picked up the marble maze mats and wacky tracks, while others quietly explored the motion bubbler timers. The chime and visual timer have already made a big difference in helping our class move smoothly between activities, creating a predictable rhythm that helps everyone feel more secure.\r\n\r\nWe are using these new tools every day in ways that truly support student success. The students love being able to use the timers to manage their focus during work time. They also go to our \"calm corner\" often to take a break and relax using the fidgets. It helped them stay on track without extra reminders from me. They especially love the chair bands that help them get out wiggles as they listen.\r\n\r\nRecently, our class was upset when a classmate experienced a medical emergency. They instantly passed out the fidgets and calming tools to help the class relax during a stressful situation. I was very happy we had them available! These resources will continue to support our work and feelings throughout the year. Your contribution has created a more inclusive environment where every student can find the support they need to do their best. These magazines have truly made a difference in the way my students engage with reading and the world around them.\r\nFrom the moment the magazines arrived, my students were thrilled to see colorful pages filled with real-world stories and current events. The engaging articles have sparked curiosity and excitement, making reading feel purposeful and fun. For many of my students, this was their first experience with a publication that connects classroom learning to what's happening globally.\r\nBeyond the joy of discovery, these magazines have provided authentic opportunities to strengthen essential reading skills. Students have practiced identifying main ideas and supporting details, explored the importance of text features, and learned to ask and answer meaningful questions about what they read. Working with real-world texts has made these skills relevant and has helped students grow as confident, thoughtful readers.\r\nMost importantly, Time for Kids has opened a window to the world beyond our classroom. It has inspired students to think critically about global issues and discover passions that will guide them for years to come. Your generosity has not only enriched their literacy development but also nurtured their curiosity and sense of connection to the wider world.\r\nThank you for making such a meaningful impact on our students' learning journey. Your support helps us prepare them to be informed, engaged citizens of the future.","fullyFundedDate":1755734349686,"projectUrl":"project/time-to-build-our-literacy/9386733/","projectTitle":"TIME To Build Our Literacy","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Lautenschlager","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp1911341_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1524014781935","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/1911341"},{"teacherId":2470810,"projectId":9304534,"letterContent":"Thank you all so much for providing us with these materials and the opportunity to support student thinking and play. We recently had a parent night in which students were able to show their parents how they can use open-ended materials to think deeply about important concepts and ideas. \r\n\r\nOpen-ended materials in play and learning do not have a single predetermined use, which allows our students to use their creativity, imagination, and critical thinking skills to explore, build, and express themselves. These materials encourage problem-solving, social-emotional development, and language skills by providing a flexible environment where children make choices, collaborate, and learn at their own pace. So often play is relegated only to the younger grades, being able to use materials with older students bring them so much joy!","fullyFundedDate":1746814434752,"projectUrl":"project/open-ended-materials-deepen-understandin/9304534/","projectTitle":"Open-Ended Materials Deepen Understanding","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Gilbertson","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp2470810_orig.jpg?crop=1359,1359,x163,y229&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1612968633669","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/2470810"},{"teacherId":2470810,"projectId":9264212,"letterContent":"Thank you all so much for providing us with these books and the opportunity to participate in this year's Oregon Battle of the Books.
