While any project that brings books into our classroom is impactful, this one has been especially powerful because so many of the books were selected for their potential to reach readers who face a bit more challenge when reading. Shorter, high-interest novels that have been designed for dyslexic readers (like The Griffin Gate and Finding Her Feet) have helped readers feel more confident and successful (while getting hooked on a new series). Having sequels to popular, accessible series (Max Crumbly, Max and the Midknights) has encouraged students to discover a new favorite series (that again helps them feel successful while reading). Of course, there were also a couple of sequels to popular books from last year's Book Madness competition, which created even more reading enthusiasm. Once again, our community's generous support has helped keep our readers motivated and moving in the right direction. Your support is greatly appreciated!
