As a special education preschool classroom, many of our students benefit greatly from sensory tools that help them regulate their bodies and stay engaged in learning. We have been using the new materials, such as play dough, sensory fidget tubes, pop-it toys, and other sensory items, during our daily sensory diet activities and small-group learning times. The children love squeezing, rolling, and creating shapes with the play dough while we practice communication, sharing, and taking turns.\r\n\r\nWhen the students first saw the materials, they were very excited and curious. They immediately wanted to explore the different colors, textures, and movements. One very special moment happened during circle time. One of our students often finds it difficult to sit and participate for the whole circle time. We gave him one of the sensory fidget tubes to hold, and it helped him stay calm and focused. For the first time, he was able to participate during the entire circle time activity. It was such a meaningful moment for our team, and seeing his success made us all very happy.\r\n\r\nMoving forward, we will continue to use these sensory materials to support our students' self-regulation, communication, and social skills. We plan to include them in structured play, calming strategies, and learning activities throughout the day. These tools are helping our students feel more comfortable, engaged, and ready to learn. Your generosity is truly making a big difference in our classroom, and we are very grateful for your support.
