Not only are they relieved to have essential items at their fingertips, they are also excited to have items that make our classroom their safe space, such as the bean bag chair in our flexible seating area. That special seating option is quite popular with my classes as they all cannot wait for their turn in \"the lounge\" as we call it.\r\nMy students are not only able to accomplish their everyday work but also partake in our hands on learning projects with the science gear included in our project. Soon they will be using the magnifying glasses and forceps to explore consumer waste in the form of an owl pellet dissection lab! For many of my students, especially English Language Learners, the visuals and clear text make complex topics easier to understand. One student said, \"We get to keep our own folder? That's so cool!\" It was a small moment, but it made a big impact.\r\n\r\nRight now, we're using these supplies to build interactive notebooks and complete a visual timeline project. The headphones help students stay focused and engaged, allowing them to work independently at their own pace.\r\n\r\nThey're also being used for listening to audiobooks and online stories, which has sparked a new excitement for reading. Having the experience under their belts has made a huge difference in their understanding and recall over this concept.\r\n\r\nMany students later told me they were so grateful that I let them do this activity and that it brought them a new appreciation for science. I loved watching them explore the owl pellets first with hesitation, then with curiousity, and finally with intrigue.
