These texts have allowed us to work on essential reading skills—like making inferences, identifying themes, and analyzing characters—while keeping students genuinely excited to turn the page. Instead of simply reading to \"get through\" an assignment, my students are learning to think deeply about stories and connect them to their own lives.\r\n\r\nReading time in our classroom has completely transformed. Students eagerly gather their books, find cozy spots, and dive right in. Our discussions are livelier, and students are asking thoughtful questions about what they read—questions that show they're not just decoding words, but truly understanding and enjoying them. One student who was reluctant to pick up any book now proudly shares her favorite passages with the class, and another has begun writing his own stories inspired by characters we've read about together.\r\n\r\nYour gift has created a ripple effect of excitement and confidence in our classroom. This time of the year is dreadful but with the fun interactive materials that were provided by your generosity we were able to have some fun in review. We have used the magnetic fractions pieces as a great visual to learning. I have also implemented these tools in the intervention as a hands on enhancement. While studying for our probability unit the beautiful dice set came in handy for ALL my classes and we were able to have fun and experiment with probability rather than reading a word problem and solving. This has left a positive memory with my kiddos they still reference frequently as one of their favorite activities. Myself included I have dove into the Spectrum resource books to provide a variety of different methods to formally assess students work in a traditional setting. On behalf of myself and my students your contribution has lead to so many deeper level of learning projects that has enhanced students mastery and overall positivity of math in a 6th grade setting. Thank you so much and these products will only continue to improve students engagement and understanding throughout the years to come.","fullyFundedDate":1739372332076,"projectUrl":"project/mathematic-madness/9094811/","projectTitle":"Mathematic Madness","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Fortenberry","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9196241_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1753114288815","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9196241"},{"teacherId":8966860,"projectId":8349868,"letterContent":"Learning in 5th grade can be tough sometimes—but thanks to your generosity, our classroom feels more like an adventure than a traditional homeroom!\r\n\r\nWe now have colorful materials, exciting books, and even real cooking tools that make every day a little brighter. One of our favorite projects is using math and science to cook! We've made pancakes, butter, and even homemade bread. It's messy, fun, and totally delicious—but more importantly, it helps us understand fractions, measurement, and chemical changes in a way that makes sense (and smells amazing). The new cookbooks are awesome too—we flip through them during reading time and even bring recipes home to try with our families!\r\n\r\nAfter working hard on tests or assignments, we love relaxing with Where's Waldo books and solving puzzle cubes. It's like a challenge and a break all in one! Our one Waldo book used to be falling apart—now we have new ones that we can share, and it's become a class favorite again.\r\n\r\nThe bright paper, new decor, and organized supplies also make our room a happier place to learn. Everything feels more fun and exciting—and that really matters when school feels a little overwhelming.\r\n\r\nThank you for helping make our classroom a creative, engaging, and inspiring place to learn.
