Students use the fidget bands daily during independent work time, especially while reading or completing written assignments. I've noticed a significant difference in their ability to stay seated and focused—students who once struggled to remain on task are now more engaged and less disruptive. One moment that stood out was during a recent reading activity: a student who typically needed multiple redirections was able to complete the entire assignment independently while using a fidget band, proudly sharing their work afterward.\r\n\r\nWhen the materials first arrived, the excitement was immediate. Students were eager to explore the different tools and quickly began asking how and when they could use them. After reviewing expectations together, they took ownership of using the items appropriately. It was clear right away that these weren't just \"fun extras,\" but meaningful supports that helped them feel more comfortable and ready to learn. Many students even expressed that the tools helped them feel calmer and more in control of their bodies.\r\n\r\nMoving forward, we are incorporating these resources into small group instruction and longer project-based activities, where sustained focus is especially important. As we begin our next unit, students will be working on collaborative projects that require planning, discussion, and persistence. These tools will continue to support their ability to participate fully and successfully. Thanks to your generosity, my students are building not only academic skills, but also confidence in their ability to focus and succeed.","fullyFundedDate":1767196909174,"projectUrl":"project/calm-minds-bright-futures/9714562/","projectTitle":"Calm Minds, Bright Futures","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Wilson","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-9_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10261536"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_108651","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":279,"numTeachers":null,"percentFrplEligible":72,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":2,"percentWhite":50,"percentIndigenous":15,"percentLatinx":9,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 4","studentTeacherRatio":null,"demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"RURAL","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_DISTANT"},"inStateSupporters":74.2,"schoolId":108651,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Wynnewood Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Wynnewood Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/oklahoma/wynnewood-school-district-i-38/wynnewood-elementary-school/108651"}
