The whiteboards have been an incredible and fun way to incorporate interactive math into our classroom. The students love using the whiteboards, and I love seeing them actually want to complete problems on their own. It has been so great to have something that gets them excited about participating and working through math problems.\r\n\r\nI love being able to use these for formative assessments and give feedback right away to my students. Instead of waiting until an assignment is finished to see what students understand, I can have them work out a problem on their whiteboards and see their answers right away. This allows me to see who understands the material and who might need a little extra help. I can work through problems with them, answer questions, and help clear up confusion before we move on to the next topic.\r\n\r\nOne of my favorite things about the whiteboards is that they give students the opportunity to try a problem without worrying so much about getting it wrong. They can work through their thinking, erase their answers, and try again if they need to. I want my students to feel comfortable participating in math, even when they are unsure of an answer. Sometimes, getting students to participate and feel confident enough to try can be a challenge, so having a resource that encourages them to get involved has been wonderful.\r\n\r\nI also love that the whiteboards allow everyone to participate instead of just having a few students answer questions out loud. Every student gets the chance to work through the problem and show what they know. It makes our lessons more interactive and gives me a better idea of how everyone is doing. I am always looking for ways to make math more engaging for my students, and these whiteboards have been such a great addition to our classroom!\r\n\r\nAs a teacher, it is important to me that my students have the resources they need to learn and be successful. I want them to enjoy coming to class, feel comfortable asking questions, and know that it is okay to make mistakes while learning something new. Being able to provide more hands-on and interactive opportunities in math is something I really appreciate, and I am so thankful that your donations helped make that possible.\r\n\r\nI have included pictures so you can see the whiteboards being used in our classroom! I wanted to share a little glimpse of how we are putting them to use and how much they are helping make our math lessons more interactive. It means so much to have people willing to support my classroom and help provide things that benefit my students.\r\n\r\nThank you again for your generosity and for investing in my students! I truly appreciate every donation and the difference it makes in our classroom. I am so thankful to have these whiteboards, and I cannot wait to continue using them with my students throughout the school year. I am excited to keep finding new ways to incorporate them into our lessons and give my students more opportunities to practice, participate, and build confidence in math.\r\n\r\nThank you so much for helping make this possible for my students!","fullyFundedDate":1785263263160,"projectUrl":"project/making-math-interactive/10381275/","projectTitle":"Making Math Interactive!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Adams","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10535244_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1785678035491","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10535244"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_65838","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":242,"numTeachers":15,"percentFrplEligible":33,"percentAsian":2,"percentBlack":2,"percentWhite":51,"percentIndigenous":13,"percentLatinx":9,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","percentHawaiianImputed":0,"percentMultiracialImputed":19,"gradesServed":"7 - 8","studentTeacherRatio":"16.1:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":false,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"RURAL","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_FRINGE"},"inStateSupporters":0.0,"schoolId":65838,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Verdigris Junior High School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Verdigris Junior High School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/oklahoma/verdigris-school-district/verdigris-middle-school/65838"}
