We recently used them during a hands-on investigation where students designed and tested models, collected data, and collaborated to explain their results. Having access to these materials allowed students to move beyond reading about concepts and instead experience them firsthand, which led to richer discussions and stronger critical thinking.\r\n\r\nWhen the students first saw the materials, their reactions said it all—wide eyes, big smiles, and lots of enthusiastic comments like, \"We get to use this?\" They immediately wanted to explore, ask questions, and begin using them. Several students who are usually quiet or hesitant were eager to participate, and I saw a noticeable increase in confidence and excitement. It was clear that having high-quality, engaging resources made them feel valued and motivated to learn. They felt proud and motivated knowing that people outside our classroom believed in their learning and wanted to invest in their success. That sense of encouragement translated into greater focus, teamwork, and confidence during lessons.\r\n\r\nBecause of your support, my students are now better prepared to tackle more complex lessons. Our next steps include applying what they've learned to a longer-term project where students will analyze real-world problems, design solutions, and present their findings to the class. These resources will continue to support meaningful, hands-on learning throughout the year, and your contribution has made a lasting impact on my students' curiosity, confidence, and success.","fullyFundedDate":1757267370787,"projectUrl":"project/spinning-curiosity-how-globes-ignite-g/9681676/","projectTitle":"\"Spinning Curiosity: How Globes Ignite Global Thinking in Science Class\"","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Masterson","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10185964_orig.jpg?crop=1242,1242,x0,y111&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1768234251012","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10185964"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_59710","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":1185,"numTeachers":61,"percentFrplEligible":79,"percentAsian":7,"percentBlack":15,"percentWhite":21,"percentIndigenous":3,"percentLatinx":42,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"8 - 8","studentTeacherRatio":"19.4:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":82.6,"schoolId":59710,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Union Eighth Grade Center on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Union Eighth Grade Center","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/oklahoma/union-public-schools/union-8th-grade-center/59710"}
