Because of your generosity, our robotics program reached an important milestone this season with the launch of our first all‑girls competitive robotics team.\r\n\r\nWith access to competition robotics equipment, our students were able to move beyond simply learning about technology to truly creating with it. They designed, built, tested, and improved their own robot, learning how problem‑solving, collaboration, and perseverance are just as important as technical skills. The excitement of seeing their ideas come to life was incredibly motivating for them.\r\n\r\nThis team embraced the challenge with confidence and determination. They took on a complex robot design, became the first team in our program's history to successfully implement a pneumatic system, and carefully documented their process in a detailed engineering notebook. Their teamwork and resilience stood out, and their hard work was recognized when they earned the Judges Award at their first tournament.\r\n\r\nMost importantly, this experience showed our girls that they belong in competitive STEM spaces. They grew as leaders, supported one another when things went wrong, and left the season more confident in their abilities as engineers and problem‑solvers.\r\n\r\nThe equipment provided through this project is already strengthening our robotics \r\nprogram and will continue to support students for years to come. Thank you for helping our students not only build robots, but build confidence, skills, and a future in STEM. We are so grateful for your support.","fullyFundedDate":1763501091561,"projectUrl":"project/empowering-girls-through-robotics/9710489/","projectTitle":"Empowering Girls Through Robotics","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Mathison","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp3234897_orig.jpg?crop=1585,1585,x0,y158&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1755612989887","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/3234897"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_48512","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":550,"numTeachers":36,"percentFrplEligible":50,"percentAsian":6,"percentBlack":10,"percentWhite":47,"percentIndigenous":6,"percentLatinx":13,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"15.3:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":77.2,"schoolId":48512,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Darnaby Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Darnaby Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/oklahoma/union-public-schools/darnaby-elementary-school/48512"}
