Having the right materials available allows me to give students more opportunities to practice these skills while building their confidence as readers.\r\n\r\nOne of the most rewarding parts of my job is watching a student begin to believe in themselves as a reader. For some of my students, reading has been something they associate with frustration or struggle. These new resources give them opportunities to experience success, enjoy books, and see their own growth. Having snacks available has helped take away that distraction and allowed my students to better focus on the important work happening in the classroom.\r\n\r\nBeyond simply filling their stomachs, these donations have shown my students that people in their community care about them and want to see them succeed. A small snack can make a student feel cared for, supported, and ready to take on the rest of the day.
