Our students have enjoyed opening up our new resources and trying out the hands-on learning materials! They love reading the books and sharing how they can read to all of our teachers. The books are perfect for their hands and they are nice and durable in case a student tries to turn the page to quickly. Your thoughtful contribution has made a meaningful difference as our students learn, practice, and build confidence with word families and foundational reading skills.\r\n\r\nOne of the materials our students are especially excited to use is the collection of hands-on word family flip books. These engaging resources give students the opportunity to physically manipulate letters and words as they explore different word families. Students can flip through the books to create and read new words, identify patterns, and practice changing beginning sounds while keeping the word family ending the same. This hands-on approach helps make an important phonics concept more concrete and easier for students to understand and remember. It even displays a bright image that grabs our student's attention. \r\n\r\nThe flip books are also incredibly versatile. Students can use them individually during independent practice, allowing them to work at their own pace, repeat skills they are still developing, and build confidence as they successfully create and read words on their own. They can also be used during small-group instruction, where students can work together with the teacher to practice word families, read their newly created words, and discuss the similarities and differences they notice. This provides valuable opportunities for students to receive targeted support while also learning from their peers.\r\n\r\nThese materials help turn learning into an active experience rather than simply asking students to memorize word patterns. Students are able to see, touch, manipulate, build, and read words, making the learning more engaging and meaningful. The activities can be easily adapted to meet different learning needs, giving students multiple opportunities to practice important literacy skills in a fun and supportive way.\r\n\r\nYour generosity provides our students with resources that encourage curiosity, independence, and a love of learning.
