In our Multimedia and Fundamentals of Technology classes, students now have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience with photography, videography, lighting techniques, and digital media production. Instead of only learning about these skills through demonstrations or online examples, students can use professional-style equipment to practice, experiment, and create their own projects.\r\n\r\nThe most exciting part for our students is being able to see their ideas come to life! They enjoy learning how to use the camera, adjust lighting, set up shots with the tripod, and capture photos and videos that look more professional. This equipment allows them to explore their creativity while developing technical skills that can be useful in future careers, college courses, and personal projects.\r\n\r\nSome students who may not typically be as engaged with traditional classroom assignments have become more interested when given the opportunity to work with the camera and create visual content. Photography and video production provide students with a different way to express themselves, collaborate with classmates, solve problems, and build confidence in their abilities. Students are learning that technology is not just something they use for entertainment; it can also be a powerful tool for communication, creativity, and career development.\r\n\r\nAs a public school with limited funding, purchasing this type of equipment would have been difficult without the generosity of our donors. These resources have opened new doors for our students and allowed us to provide more authentic, hands-on learning opportunities. We are incredibly grateful to our donors for investing in our classroom and helping our students discover new talents, develop valuable skills, and prepare for future opportunities.
