I was beyond excited when I saw that my project had been funded. I knew how important those items would be in my classroom and how much joy it would bring to their faces. When I unboxed the items with the class, their shrieks of excitement filled the room. With each new item I brought out of the box, the excitement grew and grew. The very first thing they wanted to play with was the slice and serve food, the dishes and the ice cream cones. I put the food and dishes in the house center and the students went nuts!! They were so busy making me food dishes and serving other students food. It was so nice to see their imagination at work.\r\nNext, I brought out the Lakeshore counting cones for our ice cream unit. They all wanted to play with the counting cones. It was hard for them to learn to wait until their turn to play with them. The trace and write alphabet center, the magnetic letter builders and the letter recognition instant center were great items I could just set out for instant centers in our center rotation. They all were great practice in learning our letters and correct letter formation. I cannot say thank you enough for funding my project.
