I have a new classroom! I serve students with special needs, and am constantly trying my best to be aware of their wants and needs, especially when it comes to their senses. Harsh overhead lighting is a theme in most schools....In order to accommodate students with sensory needs, I'd like to turn down the light "volume," so that they may focus on their speech and language tasks! Reducing light pollution in the classroom will also be beneficial for my typically developing students, as the fluorescent bulbs can be distracting and harmful.
