These goals have provided an outlet for physical activity during PE, helping students improve their coordination, teamwork, and sportsmanship. On a regular basis, the goals are being used in my physical education class and will be used for outdoor activities throughout the rest of the school year. Students not only get to practice basketball but also engage in creative play, turning our PE class into a space for collaborative games and challenges. It's been amazing to see how these goals have given our students a sense of excitement and energy, encouraging them to stay active and engaged throughout the day.\r\n\r\nOne of the most memorable moments with the new basketball goals was during a recent PE class when the students were able to demonstrate proper shooting technique during our basketball unit. Before receiving the new portable goals, 20-24 students shared two basketball goals. This didn't allow students to see a high success rate. With now having 4 goals, students are able to get more attempts and see higher success. Their reactions when they first saw the goals were priceless—eyes wide with excitement and a chorus of cheers erupted as they realized that the new equipment would make their PE days even more fun and dynamic. It truly brought a new level of energy to our school community.\r\n\r\nMoving forward, we plan to continue integrating these basketball goals into various aspects of our physical education curriculum. In addition to recreational play, we'll be using the goals to teach more structured lessons on sportsmanship, teamwork, and goal-setting. One specific project I'm excited about is creating the basketball skills unit for our kindergarten and first grade students. During this unit our 5th grade students will come to those classes and mentor younger ones, helping me teach them fundamental basketball techniques while building leadership and communication skills. This opportunity will not only enhance their physical abilities but also create positive relationships across grade levels.
