Having alternative seating has COMPLETELY changed our classroom dynamic! Teaching whole group lessons has never been easier. The class involvement has gone up immensely and it's because of you! \r\nThank you so much for donating snacks to us. I offer a snack to my students everyday and it's very important to me to uphold that. Being able to offer them a snack to get through the day is something that is very important to me and I could not do this without you. Some of my students have food insecurity so sending them home with extra snacks is always a must, so once again THANK YOU!!! \r\nWe are so thankful for everything your donations provided for us. I teach a vibrant and diverse 5th-grade class, and your support has brought resources into our classroom that are not only practical but also deeply meaningful to my students. From the 10-book bundle on anti-racism to wobble seats for flexible seating, recess toys, and thoughtful books like \"The Invisible String\" and \"My Mouth Is a Volcano,\" every item has had a positive impact on our learning and interactions.\r\n\r\nWhen the materials arrived, my students were overjoyed. The wobble seats quickly became a favorite, helping students stay engaged during reading and independent work. The recess toys, like jump ropes, soccer balls, and basketballs, have transformed our playtime into opportunities for teamwork and collaboration. The books, especially the anti-racism picture books, resonated deeply with my diverse class. Many students saw their own cultures and stories reflected in the pages, which sparked pride and excitement. One student excitedly pointed to a character that shared their background, exclaiming, \"That looks just like me!\" These books have helped us celebrate our differences and foster understanding and respect for one another.\r\n\r\nWe've already put these resources to good use. After reading The Invisible String, we had a heartfelt discussion about the connections we share with family and friends, even when we're apart. My Mouth Is a Volcano sparked meaningful conversations about listening and waiting our turn, which has already improved our classroom dynamics. The anti-racism books have led to thoughtful discussions about equity and fairness, with students expressing how important it is to see everyone treated with kindness and respect. Inspired by these resources, our class is now working on a \"Kindness Wall,\" where students share their acts of kindness and reflections on the stories we've read.\r\n\r\nYour generosity has truly enriched our classroom and empowered my students to grow academically, socially, and emotionally. Thank you for being a part of their journey and for helping us nurture kindness and understanding both in and out of class.","fullyFundedDate":1725570442595,"projectUrl":"project/kindness-in-and-out-of-class/8396038/","projectTitle":"Kindness In and Out of Class","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Puccetti Price","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9187554_orig.jpg?crop=2016,2016,x574,y1118&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1715273761424","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9187554"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_87070","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":664,"numTeachers":36,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":8,"percentBlack":37,"percentWhite":20,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":14,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"18.4:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":69.0,"schoolId":87070,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Wiley Post Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Wiley Post Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/oklahoma/putnam-city-schools/wiley-post-elementary-school/87070"}
