Thanks to your support, my students received magnetic building tiles and building bricks- materials that have already transformed our classroom into a hub of creativity and hands-on learning. Since receiving the materials, my students have been engaged in authentic STEM challenges that bring abstract concepts to life. \r\nThey've tackled the Tallest Tower Challenge, where they worked in teams to design stable structures. Students also learned geometry concepts by exploring nets, faces, edges, and vertices when building various 3D shapes. In the upcoming weeks students will be engineering shelters to protect objects from \"weather,\" by applying real-word problem-solving ideas. Each project has sparked curiosity and collaboration across our classroom. \r\nWhat excites me most is not just what students are building, but how they're thinking. I see them collaborating, testing hypotheses, troubleshooting failures, and celebrating successes. These materials have given every learner—regardless of reading level or prior experience—a way to participate meaningfully in STEM and develop critical thinking skills that will serve them far beyond the classroom.\r\nYour generosity has made this possible, and I cannot thank you enough. These building materials are more than toys; they are tools that ignite imagination and build confidence in young engineers and designers. Thank you for investing in my students' futures.","fullyFundedDate":1767995995765,"projectUrl":"project/magnetic-magic-wooden-wonders-tools-f/9732982/","projectTitle":"Magnetic Magic & Wooden Wonders: Tools for Learning and Play","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Adkins","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8819386_orig.jpg?crop=2268,2268,x0,y264&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1667279158221","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/jadkins"},{"teacherId":8819386,"projectId":9197700,"letterContent":"Thank you from the bottom of my heart for funding our project! Thanks to your generosity, our STEM classroom is now buzzing with creativity and excitement with our new supplies. \r\nMy students have been using the new materials for hands-on engineering challenges. One challenge had students designing and constructing a model to represent a real life engineering career. After learning about famous accidental inventions, the students were challenged to combine two everyday household items and constructing a new invention. It was amazing to see their excitement and imagination come alive during the activity. \r\nLooking ahead, we will be learning how to design and print 3D objects with our 3D printer. Next week, students are exploring magnetism by constructing a maze that a metal car can navigate. We will also be looking at renewable resources, and designing a windmill that can harness the power of wind. \r\nThank you again for making these learning adventures possible.
