I uploaded a picture of a student who uses the boards daily; however, these are used for large group projects weekly as well. Allowing students to have places where they can collaborate on learn these higher level math concepts really is great for them. They learn key skills in group collaboration and can quickly give each other feedback to support their learning. \r\n\r\nOne thing that amazes me is that when you get students out of their seats and have them move around, their brains are engaged. Since these boards are on wheels, I can move them around the room and access learners in a different way.\r\n\r\nUsing innovation in the classroom is possible with the generosity from donors like you!","fullyFundedDate":1756328063495,"projectUrl":"project/vertical-work-spaces-for-growing-mathema/9280923/","projectTitle":"Vertical Work Spaces for Growing Mathematicians","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Kunnanz","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8314063_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1644278225250","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8314063"},{"teacherId":9200391,"projectId":8616482,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generous donation that provided our classrooms with chart stands for displaying pull-down maps! Your support has also benefited our 6th-grade geography students, as shown in the photos, where they are actively using the stands to explore maps of Central America and the Caribbean. \r\n\r\nWith these stands, we can now display multiple maps simultaneously, giving students more space to interact with and analyze them up close. Recently, we used the materials to create interactive notebooks for a unit on literary analysis. Students used anchor charts as reference tools while annotating texts with highlighters, identifying themes, symbolism, and tone. Index cards became an integral part of our \"Character Development Carousel\" project, where students recorded and exchanged key insights about characters in small groups. Glue sticks allowed students to assemble their thoughts by attaching graphic organizers and discussion notes into their notebooks, creating a tangible record of their learning. Book bins helped keep everything organized, making it easy for students to access their materials and stay engaged.\r\n\r\nWhen my students first saw the materials, their excitement was contagious. They eagerly grabbed the supplies, amazed at how much these tools could enhance their learning experience. My reluctant students were also engaged. No longer were they unable to participate due to a lack of resources from home. All students were able to participate on equal footing. \r\n\r\nAs we move forward, my students are preparing to use their notebooks and annotated texts to track their big ideas of independent novels in their notebooks. Students will be able to use resources to create visually appealing analysis pages! \r\n\r\n\r\nThanks to these resources, my students are better equipped to think critically and express their ideas with clarity and confidence. Your generous contributions have not only enriched their academic experience but have also empowered them to take ownership of their learning.","fullyFundedDate":1727279614147,"projectUrl":"project/making-thinking-visible-in-english/8711298/","projectTitle":"Making Thinking Visible in English","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Ross","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp1505207_orig.png?crop=563,563,x89,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1692202708040","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/shantaya-ley"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_69291","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":1517,"numTeachers":48,"percentFrplEligible":32,"percentAsian":3,"percentBlack":4,"percentWhite":65,"percentIndigenous":6,"percentLatinx":10,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"9 - 12","studentTeacherRatio":"31.6:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":false,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"RURAL","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_FRINGE"},"inStateSupporters":73.8,"schoolId":69291,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Piedmont High School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Piedmont High School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/oklahoma/piedmont-school-district-22/piedmont-high-school/69291"}
