They have enjoyed making music with the egg shakers. It is one of their favorite ways to make rhythm. \r\nThe big weighted stuffed animal has also been a huge success. It has been cuddled by many sad or angry kindergartners. It has helped calm them down while they are able to regulate their emotions and feelings. \r\nThe scarves have been great to use during morning meeting when we are doing rhythm activities. In an early childhood setting play is critical to learning critical social and life skills. \r\nAs well as learning social skills such as sharing, being polite and conflict resolution skills, dramatic play items like this can also teach academic skills.\r\nNumber recognition can be practiced while using the telephone. In kindergarten one of our standards is focused around learning about our community and different careers and roles of people in our community.
