They were able to stay in classrooms longer while focusing on the topic at hand. Students required fewer trips out of the classroom for regulation. It is great to see when they voluntarily stop looking at their phone screen to engage with their peers, socialize, and become physically active! There is one group of students that got very interested in learning chess, so they make sure to bring the chess mat out for recess to practice and keep learning.\r\n\r\nAfter putting together the storage cart, and organizing the equipment in it, I brought it all inside the classroom to introduce the new addition to our classroom, and they got super excited and started planning right away things they could do during recess and they also started giving suggestions on activities we could do during PE class.\r\n\r\nMy students are happy to share the equipment with the middle school students, and they started teaching them how to play volleyball! We are hoping that we can eventually have a mini volleyball and chess tournament between high school and middle school.
