They offer a relaxing sensory experience for students who can press or step on the tiles and see the sea animals \"swim\" around. \r\nWe use the mindful mazes and stickers during our mindfulness time and we will begin using them for mindful mornings. This gives students a chance to practice deep breathing by tracing their fingers on the maze or textured sticker. I wish you could hear the conversations that have occurred as they strategize and work with these materials! So much learning has taken place, both the expected science and math skills as well as unplanned skills. They have grown in reasoning and spatial thinking as they have worked together to build the mazes and ball drop. They have also strengthened their interpersonal skills such as bargaining and taking turns. The magnetic stand has been used with both the materials funded through this grant and materials already available in our classroom. It has been a tremendous asset to our room!\r\n\r\nYour donation has made a huge impact on the students in my class! The magnetic center is now the most popular workspace in our room. The durability and adaptability of these materials will add educational value to my room for years to come.
